There seems to be an official confirmation regarding the date and venue of the highly anticipated wedding as it’s reportedly from none other than the NY Mayor. According to reports, Mayor Zohran Mamdani himself has dropped a major hint about Taylor and Travis’ impending wedding.
Mamdani revealed that the ‘Swelce’ wedding is set to take place in New York City at the start of July while addressing the media about the security measures that are being taken for the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026. The revelation has now confirmed rumours that had been circulating regarding Taylor’s NYC wedding. However, Zohran further admitted during the same address that he had not been invited to the wedding.
He addressed the reporters on Monday, saying, “I am fully confident in the work of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience.”
While discussing the security measures and the city’s preparedness for the World Cup match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 5, he added, “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

When the NYC mayor was asked about Taylor and Travis’s wedding and if he was planning to go, he said, “No and no. I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ (Taylor Swift’s 2020 hit track) at home on my own.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who had been dating since the summer of 2023, had announced their engagement on 26 August, 2025. The couple had taken to their social media handle to announce their engagement with a series of photos from their proposal. The post was captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” she wrote.
The couple has since made several public appearances together, and Taylor has also been spotted attending the Kansas City Chiefs’ matches to support Travis, while the latter is often seen supporting her during her concerts.
Their wedding has been making headlines for quite some time, with several details emerging. Several reports that surfaced earlier suggested that the couple was planning their wedding at the iconic Madison Square Garden. Another report had previously stated that they were planning for a Rhode Island wedding, and they were eyeing the July 3rd weekend for the ceremony in New York.
