Rikin and Sakshi’s Dreamy Wedding In Udaipur Went Global In Style
From Afro-Egyptian sundowners to Mediterranean-inspired brunches, their wedding redefined what modern celebrations can look like.
Their Wedding Turned Udaipur From Afro-Egyptian to European Chic Design HQ
When Rikin and Sakshi began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted more than a series of traditional functions. Their idea was simple and personal, that every event should feel different and yet together tell one cohesive story. Over three days in Udaipur, that vision came alive and brought global influences with cultural rituals.
The couple chose the newly opened Fairmont Udaipur as their venue, with every detail brought together by Design HQ.

The festivities began with Tribal Tango, an Afro-Egyptian-inspired sundowner set on sandy floors, framed by wild botanicals and sculptural totems. Garlands of dried chillies and potatoes replaced conventional flowers, while handwritten postcards at each setting added an intimate touch.

The next day shifted into a bright, playful mood with C’est La Fête, a European carnival-themed brunch. Inspired by French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet, the setup featured colour-blocked pavilions, Mediterranean-style café windows, gingham-wrapped bars, and floral carts. The stage, dressed in candy stripes with Roman pillars and blooming window boxes, became a painterly backdrop for the afternoon.
Even the culturally rooted Myra was reimagined. Designed as a three-part experience, it opened with a mint-and-aqua palette accented with hand-painted motifs, followed by a Rajasthani-style mela and Sajjangoth. Folk music brought a touch of tradition, while small details, like a postman delivering personalised postcards, kept the mood light and memorable.

The wedding ceremony, Gulbahar, concluded the celebrations in tones of sage green and blush pink, with Indian motifs integrated into printed textiles and florals styled to be sculptural yet understated.
For Rikin and Sakshi, this wedding was about crafting experiences that felt true to them, rooted in heritage and shaped by ideas from around the world. And in doing so, they created a celebration that sets the tone for modern Indian weddings to be more intentional, immersive, and personal.
