Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s family just got a little bigger.
The couple welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on September 19, 2026, nearly two years after the birth of their first daughter, Dua Padukone Singh. Deepika and Ranveer shared the news through a joint Instagram post featuring a tiny footprint and a simple message: “Welcome Baby Girl! 19|9|2026 Dua, Deepika & Ranveer.”
It was short, sweet and very much in keeping with how the couple has chosen to share their biggest family milestones. But there was one detail that made this announcement particularly special: Dua’s name came first.
Dua has, in fact, been at the centre of the story from the beginning.
When Deepika and Ranveer announced their second pregnancy on April 19, they skipped the elaborate celebrity pregnancy reveal. Instead, they shared a photograph of Dua holding a positive pregnancy test, accompanied simply by evil-eye emojis.
Five months later, Dua is officially a big sister.
The family also marked Dua’s second birthday earlier this month by sharing photographs from Deepika’s pregnancy shoot. The intimate family pictures featured Deepika showing her baby bump alongside Ranveer and Dua, turning what could have been a traditional maternity shoot into a celebration of their growing family.
Including Dua in both announcements feels like a natural continuation of the way Deepika and Ranveer have approached parenthood. While they have largely kept their children away from constant public attention, the glimpses they do share tend to focus on the family rather than the spectacle surrounding it.
There was another full-circle moment just a day before their second daughter arrived.
On September 18, Deepika and Ranveer visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer’s parents, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani, to seek blessings ahead of the birth.
The visit immediately brought back memories of Deepika’s first pregnancy. In September 2024, the couple had visited the same temple just two days before Dua was born on September 8. This time, the family returned to Siddhivinayak on September 18 and welcomed their second daughter the following day.
It is a small tradition, but one that has now accompanied two of the biggest milestones in their lives.
Deepika and Ranveer married in November 2018 at Lake Como in Italy, celebrating their union through Konkani and Sindhi wedding ceremonies. Six years later, they entered their parenting era with the arrival of Dua on September 8, 2024. Her name was revealed a few weeks later, with the couple explaining their choice through a post introducing their daughter to the world.
Now, almost exactly two years after Dua’s arrival, another little girl joins the Padukone-Singh household.
The couple is yet to reveal their second daughter’s name or share any further details about the newborn. For now, their four-name sign-off says enough. Dua, Deepika, Ranveer and the newest little member of the family have officially begun their next chapter together.
