The diamond of the season arrived in a Tarun Tahiliani sari this time!

Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably know about Alia’s recent looks at the Cannes Film Festival. From French sophistication to Indian opulence, she has been serving all kinds of aesthetics across her looks. She just added another look to the series, and it’s super Bridgerton-coded. For the L'Oréal Paris dinner at Cannes, she wore a custom Tarun Tahiliani ensemble, which is reminiscent of the Victorian sensibilities of Bridgerton, amalgamated with Indian elements.
The look had an off-shoulder deep burgundy corseted chinoiserie paired with a matching sari, draped as a bias-cut silhouette, which further extended into a train. The look brings together Victorian romance and Indian draping styles. The outfit is also covered in a chintz pattern, adding another element of India to the look.
The corset fits her like a glove, and the neckline adds to the romance and elegance of the look. She has accessorised the look with a hand-held fan for her shoot for the look, which is another reference to the Victorian Era, and makes it even more Bridgerton.
The jewellery also elevates the look significantly. She wore a beautiful diamond necklace with rose-cut diamonds from Sunita Shekhawat, paired with matching earrings from the same brand. She also accessorised the corset with two big brooches worn vertically, one from Amrapali Jewels, and the other one from A Jewels By Anmol.
She wore her hair in a sleek bun, and her make-up was also in line with her signature clean-girl aesthetic. With peachy lips, soft blush, barely-there eyeshadow, and lots of highlighter, the look was very Alia.
We love how the look is all about Victorian elegance, but also celebrated the crafts of India. If you are a bridesmaid/wedding guest who wants to take inspiration from Alia's look this wedding season, we suggest opting for contemporary, Western silhouettes like column gowns and short dresses, crafted in fabrics with embroideries or prints that convey the essence of India, like Chikankari or Bandhani.
