If experimenting with sari styles sounds like your jam, we suggest you try this rather esoteric drape!

In a sea of fleeting trends, the sari has managed to retain its place as a timeless piece of clothing. While trends will come and go, there is something inherently timeless about the sari that does not seek relevance from runways and pop culture moments. Its timelessness can be attributed to its elegance, gravitas, and versatility.
Speaking of versatility, what makes the sari super interesting is that the different states of India have their own unique styles of draping. The Atpoure drape from Bengal, the seedha pallu drape style from Gujarat, the Naugatuck drape from Maharashtra, the Madisuru drape from Tamil Nadu, the classic Nivi drape from Andhra Pradesh…the styles are endless!
While there are a bunch of draping styles that are loved by the masses, certain drapes are rather niche, owing to both their place of origin and their style. Exhibit A: the Coorgi drape. Rashmika Mandanna was seen wearing the Coorgi drape recently, which was a homage to her Kodava roots.
An acquired taste, the Coorgi drape has pleats on the back as opposed to the front, and the pallu is brought forward, spread across the chest, and is draped from the back to the front on the right shoulder. It's unique, elegant, and super effortless. The drape style was originally designed especially for women living in the hilly terrain, because their active lifestyle needed something easy and comfortable.
This was not the first time Rashmika was seen wearing this beautiful drape. She is often seen wearing the Coorgi drape on important occasions, as an ode to her Kodava clan.

If you gravitate towards esoteric sartorial choices, we suggest trying out this interesting drape. You can even choose to elevate the look by securing the pallu in place with a statement brooch. You can dress it up with opulent statement jewellery pieces—like temple jewellery or exquisite Polki jewellery—or dress down with some dainty gold jewellery.
