“Sweat pads with a good perfume are non-negotiable,” says Vinita Makhija, Fashion Stylist and a Creative Director. “Wedding outfits are made of delicate textiles that you’d want to preserve for years, so sweat marks can ruin them. Plus, no bride wants her wedding photos to show any sweat patches,” she adds.
Fashion tape or Double-Sided Tape
Because wardrobe mishaps and windy mandaps don’t mix, this little tape is your insurance policy.
A Stain Remover Pen
It might feel like overkill until someone hugs you with mehendi still drying. Trust us, a small, mighty stain pen comes a long way. Shifa Ahmad from Delhi, a newly-wed bride, shared, “One thing I’m glad I carried was a stain remover pen. With food, makeup, and so many people around, accidents happen, and you don’t want a stain to ruin your outfit or show up in your photos. It really saved me when I got a tiny splash of mehendi on my dupatta.
Blotting Paper
No one tells you how sweaty pheras are. Especially the forehead-sweat kind. This helps.
A Mini Stich Gun
“One thing I swear by is a mini stitch gun. Many brides or stylists use safety pins to fix last-minute snags, but pins can leave holes or even tear fragile fabrics. A tiny handheld stitch gun does a quick, clean fix without damaging the outfit,” says Vinita Makhija.
Band-Aids
Heels are also cute. Until they’re not. So, be ready.
Mints
“Mints are another must-have. Weddings mean hugging a hundred people, talking non-stop, and often not eating for long hours. A mint keeps you feeling fresh throughout,” says Vinita Makhija.
A Pad (even if your period’s not due)
Because your uterus loves drama.
A Snack
A granola bar, a handful of almonds, even a piece of chocolate. You won’t realise how long it’s been since breakfast until your head starts to spin.
