Maalya by Isvari reimagines the timeless maala as a versatile, layer-friendly staple for the modern bride’s trousseau.

Bridal jewellery has always been an integral part of a bride's wedding day. It often makes or breaks the entire look if done correctly. And in a time when bridal jewellery is all about mixing, layering, and making it your own, Maalya by Isvari by Manik and Priyanka Jain feels like a fresh yet rooted addition to the trousseau. Built around the idea of beaded gemstone necklaces, the label brings back the beauty of the classic maala, but with a modern twist that today’s brides can actually have fun with.
For Manik, the inspiration comes straight from India’s rich past. “If you look at our history, from gods and goddesses to kings and queens, the one piece you’ll always spot is the maala,” he shares. Sitting gracefully along the collarbone, it has long been a symbol of prosperity and royalty. And now, it’s being reimagined for a new generation.
Interestingly, coming from a traditional jewellery family, launching a brand like this wasn’t always the goal. It was more about evolving with the times. “We wanted to take what we’ve grown up with and make it work for today’s lifestyle,” Manik explains. The result? Pieces that still feel connected to tradition but are easy, wearable, and far from old-school.

Another standout detail is the sourcing. The gemstones come from everywhere, from Brazil, Colombia, Africa, Sri Lanka, to Japan, and even different parts of India, giving each necklace its own unique vibe.

And when it comes to bridal styling, Maalya fits right in. Brides today aren’t sticking to just one statement piece. Rather they believe in layering it all. These beaded necklaces can be paired over a polki choker, styled with diamonds, or even stacked with other colourful strands to match different wedding looks.
With Maalya by Isvari, it’s less about following rules and more about creating your own bridal story, one layer at a time.
