And no, we're not talking about those little studs that you wear!

The style choices of the modern Indian man have become increasingly experimental. Their personal style is no longer within the realms of what the supposed norms are. Today, men are embracing colours, interesting silhouettes, skincare, accessories, jewellery, and even makeup—things that were considered unconventional for men just a decade ago. What was then reserved for metrosexual men, is now the new normal.
With this shift, comes a new-found penchant for jewellery for men. However, while a section of men are embracing jewellery more than ever, there is another huge segment of men that still have their reservations towards wearing jewellery. Most Indian men share a rather strange relationship with jewellery. The idea of wearing a little bit of jewellery as a man might sound interesting to them, but they wouldn’t go so far as planning a look around jewellery. If you ask us, it’s about time you start wearing a little jewellery as a man, because wearing jewellery is less about gender fluidity and more about self expression. And jewellery does not belong to any gender, after all.
If you are a man who would like to hop onto the jewellery bandwagon without going all out, you might want to take it slow. Brooches are your best bet. If you want to test the waters with jewellery, this is where to start. You can go for big, chunky brooches, or tiny, barely there ones. If you’re really serious about upgrading your jewellery game, you can even go for a cluster of brooches. You can do this by wearing lots of brooches together that are cohesive in terms of the colour or style. Or, if you’re in the mood for a little more fun, wear your brooch anywhere but on your lapel! Wear it on your trousers, at the back of your jacket, on your tie/bow tie…your options are endless. Because the correct way to wear a brooch is whatever you want it to be!
If you want to go one step further than a brooch, chunky cocktail rings are the way to go. Wearing a cocktail ring with a huge, solid gemstone like emerald or tanzanite will not only elevate your look, but also add a pop of colour to it. You can even pair 2-3 cocktail rings together for a more statement jewellery look.
And, if you want to take your jewellery game one step further, (and not to forget, are comfortable with your sexuality) you might want to do long necklaces. It could be any kind—a long pearl necklace, a necklace with a chunky gemstone as a pendant, a necklace with a temple-jewellery pendant…any kind of long necklace that you can pair with a kurta with a man-cleavage or a shirt with the buttons undone.
