Getting the hair right can be a big worry for most brides, especially when they want to go for a less studied and more lowkey hair-down finish.

For her wedding look, the actor went for a sleek hairstyle featuring a middle parting. Janvi Chhatwal, owner of Looks Salon in Noida, suggests that you begin by blow-drying your mane and use a paddle brush to smooth it out. “Use a straightener to create a sleek look, but don’t make it super flat, keep your hair’s natural movement intact,” says Janvi. If your hair feels slightly frizzy, take a small amount of smoothing cream or hair serum like the OUAI Anti Frizz Creme. Apply a tiny amount and run it through the lengths to add shine and prevent frizz. “Lightly mist a flexible-hold hairspray to keep everything in place without making the hair stiff,” Janvi recommends. Loic Chapoix, Hair Styling Expert, Dessange Mumbai tells Manifest, "A few weeks before the wedding, consider getting balayage or highlights done by one of the hair expert colourists to add volume and texture. Later treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment from Kérastase a day or two before the wedding for soft, silky locks."
To ensure it stays in place if you’re wearing a dupatta. “Place it gently over your head and use discreet U-pins to secure it at the crown. Make sure it’s pinned well so it doesn’t slip but still looks effortless,” says Janvi.

Janvi offers tips on how to keep the hairstyle intact during the wedding.
Less is more with products: Overusing serum or spray can make the hair look oily or heavy.
Pin your dupatta the right way: Use invisible pins that hold well but don’t press the hair down too much.
Avoid touching your hair too often: This helps keep it sleek and frizz-free.
Carry a mini touch-up kit: A small comb and a bit of serum will come to your rescue for a quick fix.

Ragini Mehra, CEO of Silhouette Salon de Beauté, The Oberoi( New Delhi), suggests washing your hair with a volume-boosting shampoo. “A volumising shampoo helps lift the roots and add bounce to your hair. It not only enhances the style but makes it easier to work with while styling hair.” A thorough wash will help manage your hair texture.
Next, “Always section your hair depending on the side it naturally falls on and compliments your face structure. For a softer, vintage vibe, style the front section into gentle waves or loose curls. You can use a curling iron or flat iron to create these soft bends,” adds Ragini.
However, if your face is rounder, opt for slightly more elongated waves to add structure. If your face is more angular, soft curls can balance sharp features.
Note: A side part can create more volume, while a middle part can give a sleek, balanced look.

Keep your hair in place: choose styling products that match your hair texture and give you the desired volume. “A mousse or root-lifting spray works well for a bouncy, voluminous look. If you need more hold, a flexible-hold hairspray can give structure without leaving your hair too stiff,” suggests Ragini.
Add texture: To add extra texture, one can use a sea salt spray or light texturizing spray once your hair is dry to help set it in place.
P.S: “Ensure the products are evenly distributed to avoid any greasy or heavy spots. To give your hair that healthy, glossy finish, use a shine spray or serum. This will not only enhance the look of your hairstyle but also give it a smoother look and a polished touch.

The new bride’s make-up look was equally soft and romantic just like her hair. The waves were romantic and Aaliyah’s look was pulled together with a delicate maang tikka and a pearl-adorned veil which made for a dreamy addition.
Creating soft waves like Aaliyah’s requires you to start with clean, dry hair and apply a heat protectant. “Use a 1.25-inch curling iron or wand to create loose waves. Wrap sections of hair around the barrel, holding for a few seconds before releasing.

Hold the curls longer: Use a lightweight mousse or texturising spray before curling to help the waves hold longer. Secure the maang tikka with hidden pins to prevent slipping.
If you have a heavy veil: use discreetly placed pins to keep it from tugging at your hair. Carry a small bottle of hairspray and extra bobby pins for quick touch-ups.
