Not long ago, both beauty and fashion were in their “clean girl era”. When the sartorial choices were centered around quite luxury, and beauty would revolve around no-makeup makeup. When the fashion world was embracing neutral colours, classic silhouettes, and minimalism, and the beauty world was all for dewy skin, nude lips, natural lashes, and no drama. Much to the relief of all the maximalist girlies, both fashion and beauty are over that now. Beauty for one, is in its OTT era right now. If you are ready to retire the clean girl aesthetic as a beauty girlie, here are the makeup trends to embrace instead.

    Blue eyeshadow

Blue is having a major moment this year. From Zendaya’s blue schiparelli gown to the cerulean sweater from The Devil Wears Prada 2 and everything in-between, blue has announced its reign loud and clear this year through various pop culture moments. This dominance of blue also extends to beauty, blue eyeshadow being one of the biggest beauty trends of the year. If you’re planning to wear a blue outfit this wedding season, pair it with a blue smokey eye or a blue sparkly eye. Even if you are looking to add a pop of colour to a yellow sari or an orange lehenga, we suggest pairing it with a blue eyeshadow for a fun colour-block look.

    90s lip liner

The 90s lip liner is back in all its glory. While the recent years were all about single-shade lips, the 90s trend of pairing your lipstick with a darker lip liner is making a gradual comeback. Embrace this trend this wedding season by pairing your nude lipstick with a chocolate brown lip liner, bright red lipstick with a deeper wine lip liner, and your orange lipstick with a red lip liner. Merge the lip liner slightly into the lipstick, and coat it with clear gloss for a Euphoria-coded look.

    Smokey eyes

From the runways to the red carpets, the smokey eye is back, and it seems like it’s here to stay. Go for a cobalt blue or a black smokey eye for a night look, and a light caramel smokey eye for a day look. Because life is too short to believe that wearing a smokey eye during the day time is a faux pas! So embrace the smokey eye this season, because you didn’t learn how to do a 10-step smokey eye for your skills to go to waste!

    Rhinestones

If there is ever a time to embrace rhinestones, it's now. This trend is practically the flag-bearer for the return of maximalist beauty, and is being seen everywhere right now from the Met Gala to Euphoria, and we are here for it. You might want to embrace this trend as a bridesmaid this wedding season, and no, it's not costume-y. Remember Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham casually wearing rhinestones for her prom in the 90s? We need to bring that back!

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

    THE NEW BRIDE.
