Navy to cerulean and aqua, meet the haute hue on wrists, this season!

Looking sharp as a man is much more than just throwing on a stylish outfit. It’s about attention to detail—getting the fit right, colour contrasting your tie to your pocket square, sporting the perfect length of trousers, leaving the second button of your jacket undone, getting the width of your tie right and many other things. Another little detail that matters to a man’s appearance - yet one that holds utmost importance - is the picking the right accessories. These can make or break a look, whether it’s immaculate shoes, a nice tie or bowtie, cufflinks, brooches, and, needless to say, a great watch. Because nothing says ‘I’ve got taste’ better than a beautiful watch. While you may choose to go mechanical or quartz, sporty or formal, there’s one trend that’s standing out this season: the colour blue.
Unless you have been off the internet, you might have noticed that the colour blue is having a major moment in pop culture right now. From Alia Bhatt’s Danielle Frankel ice blue look at this year’s Cannes red carpet to Zendaya’s electric blue Schiaparelli dress in New York and the return of the cerulean sweater in The Devil Wears Prada 2, blue has been working overtime to establish its dominance this year. And it made the case for menswear brilliantly when actor Callum Turner embraced a classic Ferragamo suit in navy blue for his recent wedding to singer Dua Lipa.
Groom-to-be (or a groomsman-to-be), if you are looking to invest in a new watch for the wedding season, you might want to get in on fashion’s bandwagon. Not only are blue-dialled watches super luxe at the moment, but it’s the kind of trend that won’t become irrelevant when the blue craze has died down, too. Isn’t it a classic, after all?
