Sure, Kalindi Puri’s (Kareena Kapoor) style in Veere Di Wedding was great, but let’s not forget how Sonam’s character Avni Sharma constantly served impeccable looks. Her looks were almost too good not to overshadow the bride’s looks. In fact, all the characters in the film were well styled, to no one’s surprise, given that they were styled by Rhea Kapoor. But our favourite has to be Avni. When Sonam and Rhea come together, they serve a lot of fashion, and this movie was no exception. Sonam’s personal style in the movie is very clean and polished, with not a hair out of place. For Kalindi’s sangeet, she opts for a colourful lehenga with a bohemian vibe, huge studs and some bangles in silver tone. She wears her hair in a clean updo, staying true to her personal style.

    Nisha, Hum Aapke Hain Koun

Dear reader, if this was way before your time, let me tell you that Madhuri Dixit’s fashion game in Hum Aapke Hain Koun was absolutely top-notch. Nisha would wear pastel pink dresses with roses on them with strings of pearls and ribbons tied in her hair (yes, she was that girl). She would wear simple outfits in the most vibrant colours (yes, she knew that trick in the 90s), and just in general had a style that was way ahead of its time. Even if you are clueless about the movie, you must have seen her famous purple look from the song 'Didi Tera Devar Deewana'. That look was a moment in history. Here’s how you can recreate this look this Diwali. (Btw lucky for you, purple is trending currently)

The Puneet Balana sari is the prettiest shade of purple, and very close to Nisha’s purple. Instead of draping it how you normally would, drape it in a seedha pallu style like Nisha, add some nice gold jewellery, and you are good to go.

    Naina, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

Naina Talwar is another character who has a great personal style. Her wedding looks were stunning, and we love how Naina’s fashion, much like Naina herself, truly came into its own in the second half of the movie. Her blue sari is obviously stunning and got knocked off heavily, but her red look in the song 'Dilliwaali Girlfriend' deserves more appreciation. It’s sexy, stunning and looks super comfy. Here’s how to recreate the look this Diwali.

Okay, Veronica’s fashion game had me in a chokehold when the movie came out. She is a fashion chameleon, and easily the best-dressed person in the room always, without looking like she has put in a lot of effort. She is seen wearing this beautiful black-tiered sari at the end of the movie, styled with beach waves and minimal jewellery. The look, true to her style, is very effortless and sexy. Here’s how you can recreate this look for a Diwali party this season.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
