ICYMI, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez got married in Venice over three days filled with celebrity guest appearances, protests and more!

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez got married in Venice, Italy, on June 27. The couple held a series of celebrations over the course of three days, which included a casual foam party on their yacht, a formal welcome dinner, the wedding and a themed after-party.
More than 90 private jets flew guests to Marco Polo airport for the celebrations, while others arrived on their super-yachts. Guests stayed at hotels like Aman Venice, Hotel Cipriani, and The Gritti Palace.
While celebrations attracted attention from all over the world, they also drew criticism and protests from local residents and environmental groups, who expressed concerns regarding the impact that such a high-profile event would have on the fragile city.
Here’s a clear breakdown of everything that went down during one of the most controversial weddings of the year…
The private celebration began close to the Croatian island of Unije, where Bezos and Sánchez hosted a foam party on their $500 million yacht, before they arrived in Italy. Evan Whitesell, Sánchez's 19-year-old son, had a birthday party at the casual gathering as well. Guests of the couple landed in Venice, reportedly, in 90 private jets and were ferried to the venue in 30 water taxis. The couple welcomed guests with a formal pre-wedding dinner held in the cloisters of Madonna dell’Orto, a medieval church located in the Cannaregio district of Venice.
The couple invited around 200 people to be a part of their celebrations, including Tom Brady, Sydney Sweeney, Diane von Fürstenberg, Queen Rania of Jordan, Ivanka Trump, Bill Gates, Domenico Dolce, Usher, Tom Brady, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Leonardo DiCaprio, the Kardashians, among many more A-listers and billionaires.

The main wedding took place across two of Venice’s most iconic locations, San Giorgio Maggiore and the Arsenale. There was live music at the wedding too, which included a gospel performance and Matteo Bocelli singing 'Can’t Help Falling in Love'.
Lauren Sánchez wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown with a tulle-and-lace veil, while Jeff Bezos was seen in a tuxedo.
As part of the wedding celebrations, Bezos is reportedly donating €2 million to CORILA, a local academic consortium focused on protecting Venice’s lagoon ecosystem.

The couple held an after-party with the theme ‘Dolce Notte’, a post-wedding party with a pyjama-themed dress code. Lauren Sánchez was seen wearing a rose-pink Atelier Versace gown covered in Swarovski crystals.
Spread over a few days in Venice, it brought together a mix of private celebrations, well-known guests, and some public criticism.
