When Praneetha and Goutham stumbled upon each other on a dating app, little did they know that the chance connection would lead to a beautiful love story and marriage. “What started as a friendship soon became something deeper,” says Praneetha, “Our first meeting was at Hyderabad airport, and from the moment we had our first date, we became inseparable. Our chemistry was effortless, and our bond only grew stronger with time.”

Little moments of love over the years made them realise they’ve found The One in each other. “Goutham’s calm nature balances my energy, and he has always been my rock-solid support. Whether it was helping with family responsibilities, handling wedding preparations, or standing by me in tough times, he has been there through it all.”

Since their first meeting happened in Hyderabad, it was only natural that the city became the destination for their engagement and wedding ceremony too.

The couple chose the stunning Falaknuma Palace as the venue for their engagement. Aside from the property being a visual delight, it was also a spot where the two shared their first kiss. They exchanged rings in the presence of their loved ones and made memories to last a lifetime.

“While there wasn’t a formal proposal, our journey was filled with meaningful moments that naturally led us to this beautiful wedding. However, one unforgettable moment was at Falaknuma Palace, where Goutham got down on one knee with the engagement ring while our family and friends spoke about us—it was magical!”

The wedding planning journey, they discovered, was filled with surprises (“Wedding expenses add up so quickly!”), but it also had some unforgettable moments, like all the dance rehearsals and the wedding shopping. “One of the best parts was our trip to Delhi, where we went café hopping and had an absolute blast shopping for the wedding. It was such a lovely experience, and we made so many amazing memories along the way!” recalls Praneetha.

The couple blended their distinct cultures by holding a Christian vow exchange ceremony and a traditional South Indian Hindu weddingRVR PRO

The wedding planning journey was not a conventional one for the two. They also had to think about blending their different cultures together for the ceremonies. Praneetha, who is Hindu, and Gowtham, who is Christian, rose to the task beautifully. “Coming from a South Indian Brahmin family and Goutham from a Christian background, we wanted a ceremony that reflected both traditions while staying true to who we are. Our engagement was an elegant Indo-Western celebration, while our wedding was a traditional South Indian Brahmin ceremony. It was the perfect mix of rituals and celebrations, making it deeply personal and meaningful.”

While their wedding was made up of unforgettable details, the one that touched our heart was the customised lehenga Praneetha opted for the wedding. “I got a Love Story Lehenga designed, filled with intricate details of our journey together. From the special places we visited to moments that shaped our relationship, every motif had a meaning. What inspired me to do this? I wanted my outfit to have significance, to be a reflection of our story. What better way to express my love for Goutham than by wearing something that tells our journey?”

The couple couldn’t have been happier about how everything turned out in the end. “I truly believe I manifested my dream wedding—a memory I will cherish for a lifetime. Everything came together beautifully, making it an unforgettable celebration,” says Praneetha. “Of course, no wedding is ever 100% perfect, but ours felt just right in every way that truly mattered.”

Now, the couple is looking forward to “building a life together, traveling to new places, and cherishing the little everyday moments as a married couple.”

Here’s wishing Praneetha and Goutham a lifetime of happiness!

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
