TV Shows That Are Inspiring Wedding Trends Right Now

Who wouldn’t want a dreamy ‘Bridgerton’ or a romantic ‘Yellowstone’-style do, right?

Your wedding mood board might have kickstarted from Pinterest, but chances are your favourite TV show has made its way onto it, too. From dreamy garden parties to Italian getaway weddings, when it comes to the big day, couples are taking plenty of inspiration from the small screen.

It doesn’t take hours to do this. One minute you are watching a new season of your favourite TV show and the next, you are saving screenshots of wedding sequences from the show for flower arrangements, the outfits, table settings and even sometimes, the venue (if it fits your budget), instead of hiring someone to take you through it all.

And if we’re being honest, this may actually make sense. TV shows have become more visually stunning than ever. They have begun creating entire worlds that people want nothing more than to step into. It’s no surprise that couples are borrowing ideas from some of the biggest shows and turning them into real-life wedding celebrations. Here are some of the TV-inspired wedding trends that are having a major moment right now.

Everyone Still Wants a Little Bridgerton Romance

It is no surprise that everyone really does want a little Bridgerton romance on their wedding day, so let’s start with the obvious one. Ever since the series made its way to our screens, it has effectively had a strong chokehold on most of the choices we make, from the aesthetics to the outfits. Every once in a while, you stop and think about what you’d wear if you were a part of that show. It practically revived the idea of fairytale romance, and couples are still obsessed.

Think huge floral arrangements, dreamy pastel colours, candlelit receptions, garden venues, and string quartets playing pop songs. Brides are embracing romantic silhouettes, corset-inspired gowns, delicate lace details, and long flowing veils that feel straight out of a Regency-era love story.

You don’t need a palace to pull it off either. Even small weddings are incorporating touches of the Bridgerton aesthetic through flowers, décor, and fashion.

How About A Lil White Lotus-Style Destination Wedding?

While I know destination weddings have always been a thing but if there’s one thing The White Lotus has done well, it’s make luxury vacations look impossible to resist.

While hopefully avoiding the chaos that comes with the show’s plotlines, couples have now started embracing the travel-inspired aesthetic that the show left behind. It is all about those intimate weddings that take place in the most stunning locations, welcome dinners under the stars, poolside parties, beachside brunches, and the entire wedding weekends that feel more like a holiday than a traditional event. Think fancy, but in Spain!

Italy, Thailand, and coastal destinations are particularly popular right now, and guests are increasingly being invited to enjoy a full experience rather than just attend a ceremony.

Emily in Paris For Some Chic Fun

Not every wedding needs to be perfectly coordinated, yes you heard that right. Thanks to Emily in Paris, couples are becoming more comfortable with a little more vibrance, colours that are not just all-whites, reds or even pinks, personality, and a little bit of drama in the best way possible.

Think bright florals, bold tablescapes, statement cakes, playful fashion choices, and unexpected décor details. The unconventional weddings are becoming increasingly common and the vibe is less about following the rules and more about making a wedding day as memorable as it should be, for the couple as well as the guests and the result of it all is a wedding that feels personal and full of character.

The Yellowstone Aesthetic For Couples Who Love The Outdoors

When Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Universe let us into the wild expanse of Montana it did more than pique travel interest. The show that rakes in fans everywhere also is loved for its characters, especially Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). Guess what? Yellowstone is now an aesthetic, particularly for the couples who would rather exchange their vows against a stunning mountain background that acts as a decor itself than inside a banquet with overdone lighting and heavy floral arrangements.

Sure, rustic weddings aren’t new, but they’re getting a modern upgrade, thanks to this show and it’s now all about ranch venues, open landscapes, natural materials, warm earthy tones, and understated luxury.

The Summer I Turned Pretty: Fueling Coastal Wedding Dreams

Not the best one to keep wedding inspiration, given how the couple never really got married (spoiler alert), but I have to say, only few shows capture the feeling of summer romance quite like The Summer I Turned Pretty.

That’s probably why more couples are leaning into soft coastal aesthetics for their weddings. Picture ocean views, blue-and-white colour palettes, sailcloth tents, fresh flowers, candlelit dinners by the water, and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels at ease. It’s about creating that effortless, sun-soaked feeling that makes guests wish the celebration could last another day.
