The ‘Bridgerton’ Drought Is Over (At Least For Now)
Netflix has released a teaser and more information about the hit show’s upcoming fourth season…

After months and months of virtually no information about Bridgerton, we finally have an update, and it’s a good one. Netflix has announced that the show is going to be renewed for a fifth and sixth season after the fourth one drops in 2026.

An adaptation of Julia Quinn’s hit Regency romance series, Bridgerton, follows the eight close-knit siblings of the titular family as they attempt to find love. In the upcoming fourth season, we’re going to follow the bohemian and commitment-phobic Benedict Bridgerton’s journey towards a Happy Ever After.

Adapted from Quinn’s An Offer From A Gentleman, the story focuses on how Benedict’s (played by Luke Thompson) perspective on love and settling down changes after he encounters the Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball. The fact that the mysterious woman is, in reality, a housemaid named Sophie Beckett (played by Yerin Ha) is only going to add more drama to the Regency romance.

At the end of the third season, Benedict had come to terms with his sexuality after an encounter with Lady Tilley and her friend Paul. But will he explore more in the fourth season? According to the showrunner Jess Brownell, the possibility is not zero. In an interview with Variety, she confirmed that, while Sophie Beckett would be a big part of the story, the upcoming season will not ignore Benedict’s queerness as he is “the type of person who wouldn’t be as concerned with gender.”
