5 Of The Coolest Fashion Trends Of The Season

If you like it, put a bow on it

We don’t know about you, but we absolutely love all things coquette and romantic! Pearls, lace, ruffles, satin, florals, pastels, pink, peter pan collars… the works! But you know what the most coquette element is? Bows! You can not love the romantic aesthetic and not be smitten by bows! Much to our delight, bows are huge right now, and were seen on a plethora of runways lately, both in India and internationally. While we love all kinds of outfits with bows, we are particularly enjoying their amalgamation with traditional Indian outfits! A big bow on the back of the blouse of a sari, or multiple tiny bows on the skirt of a lehenga? Yes please!

    Top Of The Barrel

The exaggerated barrel silhouette is having a major moment, and we are here for it! It's the silhouette that is cinched at the top, flares out in the middle before it cinches again at the bottom. It essentially is the opposite of an hourglass silhouette, which sits snug on the waist and fuller on the top and bottom. While the silhouette might seem rather unconventional, mainstream Indian brands like Aisha Rao and Raw Mango have featured the silhouette in their latest collections, proving that it might not be so esoteric after all!

    Skinny pallu FTW!

There’s something effortlessly sexy about the skinny dupatta. A skinny dupatta worn around the neck with a pretty lehenga, or with a sleek dress is as chic as it gets! And you know what else is in trend right now? The skinny pallu! Don’t get us wrong—we love a chiffon sari with an open pallu that’s straight from a Yashraj movie, but sometimes, a sleek, skinny pallu is all you need to take your saree up by several notches! Case in point: Priyanka Chopra's sleek metallic sari in the song Desi Girl!

    Barely-there blouses

Risqué blouses are big right now. From mini halter-neck blouses to barely there bandeau ones and super tiny off-shoulder ones, saris and lehengas with micro-blouses are the flavour of the season!

    Pocket-friendly

To say that women love pockets would be an quite an understatement. They could be wearing the most exquisite ruffled Bridgerton-esque gown, or the sexiest sequin lehenga that makes them feel their absolute best, but if it doesn't have pockets, none of it matters. They're that important! Because news flash: women have stuff to carry too!
