For the bride who twirls with ease, Tarun Tahiliani’s Quintessence turns bridalwear into poetry in motion. Tarun Tahiliani presented his latest collection, Quintessence, earlier at the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025. It was a moment that had been eagerly anticipated collection as Tarun distilled his signature sensibilities into a collection defined by precision, restraint, and movement. Rooted in the meaning of the word itself, it is the most refined essence.

His collection ‘Quintessence’ is a study in refined silhouettes. Corseted bodices, softly structured jackets, panelled kalidars, draped lehengas, and fluid sarees with sculptural pleating underlining Tahiliani’s ongoing exploration of how garments embrace the body. There is a measured sensuality in the way these forms move in this collection. They are fluid yet confident, ornate yet never excessive. This collection's focus is on the embroidery, a hallmark of his work, which is rendered with pearls, crystals, and resham threads, applied with an attention to detail that elevates each ensemble without overwhelming it.

This season, embellishment also finds a new rhythm. Embellished corset blouses, adorned with strings of beads along the shoulders or back, and appliqué florals in blush tones on sarees introduce a delicate yet striking edge. Menswear, too, reflects modern reinterpretation. Sharply tailored bandhgalas and sherwanis in rich fabrics with tonal embroidery. These designs accede to tradition while offering a fluidity and ease rarely seen in conventional ceremonial wear.

If there is a unifying thread in ‘Quintessence’, it is heritage reimagined with personal resonance. The collection balances India’s artisanal legacy with contemporary luxury, creating garments meant to be lived in, felt, and remembered. Tahiliani himself describes it as “couture in its purest form,” which extends to both brides and grooms the freedom to feel present, elegant, and entirely themselves.

Quintessence reimagines India’s rich heritage through a modern lens and is further refined, soulful, and deeply personal. It is made for the bride who wants to feel light, present, and entirely herself.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
