Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are taking it slow when it comes to their wedding planning but they’ve settled on a few non-negotiables already. The couple, who got engaged in December 2024, claimed earlier this year that they’re taking things slow and enjoying being engaged for now. However, both Selena and Benny have laid out a few key details that they’d love to include (and exclude) from their upcoming nuptials.

In an episode of The Table Manners With Jessie and Lennie Ware, the couple spoke about their wedding, the traditions they’re looking forward to and the menu at the event.

Benny revealed that most details of their wedding are not finalised yet, however, the one thing they’ve decided and agreed upon is this one food item. “The only thing I've said straight up, as a part of the food, is that I want Jake (Cohen) to do the challah.”

Challah is a traditional Jewish bread that’s made from enriched dough. It’s characterised by its braided style, delicate crumb and golden brown hue. Jake Cohen is a Jewish cuisine expert and New York Times bestselling cookbook author. On the podcast, the soon-to-be-groom claimed that Jake “makes the best challah I've ever had”, a fact Selena seconds wholeheartedly.

Both Selena and Benny are foodies. Not only did Benny’s wedding proposal feature Taco Bell majorly, but Benny is also a cookbook author, and Selena is the host of the cooking show Selena + Chef. This is why it’s not surprising that the one detail that the couple has settled on involves food.

Aside from challah, Selena and Benny’s wedding menu could also feature lots and lots of corn, as it’s the one thing that both of them absolutely love in all its forms. Benny even joked that their wedding menu is going to be “just corn”.

It’s safe to say that we’re going to be eagerly awaiting more details about the wedding (menu) now!

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
