Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding planning journey has been a joy to witness so far. After announcing their engagement back in December 2024, the couple released the studio album I Said I Love You First together and have been on a promotional run for the same. Not only has it allowed us to witness how Benny Blanco is the definition of a green flag, but it’s also given us a glimpse at their wedding planning journey.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the couple shared that they were taking it one day at a time and that Selena has planned a new wedding in her head ever since she got engaged.

“While you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring,” said Benny Blanco, “We’re just living our life every day. There’s not this whole elaborate thing. I think we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and we’ve still just been enjoying so much. It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago.”

In a recent appearance on the Table Manners With Jessies & Lennie Ware podcast, the couple elaborated more about their wedding plans, especially about the important tradition they’re going to skip. The couple is not going to have the traditional first bride and groom dance at the reception.

“I don’t think we’re looking at having one of those ‘cause they’re a little—I feel embarrassed,” said Selena Gomez, as her fiancé chimed in, adding, “She’s shy.”

The singer, however, noted that she would definitely be including a special dance with her maternal grandfather at the wedding.

“He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle. Because, good for my mom, she decided to go to (Las) Vegas and be like, ‘Whoo,’ and she’s still been with

(my father) ever since they were like 26,” she shared, “So it’s very cute that they did that, but I wanted to give (my grandfather) the opportunity to have that,” she added.

Along with this special dance, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will be paying their tribute to the soon-to-be-groom’s Jewish heritage by including the traditional chair dance or the ‘Hora’.

“I’m very nervous about that,” she admitted, adding, “I’ve got to be honest, it looks so cute and adorable but I was like, ‘What? I have to depend on just something like (a chair)?’”

While they’ve let their fans into the wedding planning journey, they haven’t confirmed the wedding date yet.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
