The Guest List That Looked Like a Red Carpet

Few parties can boast of a guest list that includes Kim Kardashian, John Cena, and Tony Blair, all at once.

But for the Ambani wedding, this was just the beginning. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, the Bachchans, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas joined global powerhouses like former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, and US diplomat John Kerry, making this guest list nothing short of surreal.

A Million-Dollar Watch Gifted to the Groom’s Inner Circle

The most-talked-about gift? A ₹2 crore limited-edition Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch, reportedly gifted by Anant Ambani to his closest friends and groomsmen, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Arjun Kapoor. The timepieces, highly coveted among collectors, were spotted on their wrists during the ceremonies, setting social media ablaze.

    The Showstopping Performances

The three-day pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar had already set the tone with Rihanna’s rare, explosive performance in March. But the actual wedding only turned up the heat. Justin Bieber flew in for the Sangeet ceremony, Katy Perry lit up the celebration, and Akon, Diljit Dosanjh, Arijit Singh, and Shreya Ghoshal added a blend of international stardom and desi soul to the soundtrack of the week.

Jewels That Deserve Their Own Museum

This wasn’t just a wedding, it was a diamond-drenched runway of India’s most exquisite jewels.

Kim Kardashian, styled in Lorraine Schwartz, wore a custom 170-carat diamond necklace, 62-carat pearl-diamond earrings, a diamond-studded bindi headpiece, and a nose ring totalling 70 carats.

Isha Ambani Piramal stunned in Kanitilal Chhotalal’s Garden of Eden Necklace, centred around a heart-shaped blue diamond and surrounded by portrait-cut stones.

Nita Ambani chose a coordinated suite of emeralds for her son’s big day, in varying cuts and settings

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
