Looks like winter is arriving a little earlier this year!

For a recent appearance, Kiara Advani wore a black velvet sari by Manish Malhotra. While the sari was entirely plain, what was interesting is that it brought together a rather rare combination of heavy velvet and delicate lace. The velvet sari was paired with a full-sleeve lace blouse with a keyhole cut-out detail. We also love how the lace had a slightly geometrical pattern, as opposed to the typical Venetian lace or chantilly lace with free-flowing floral patterns.

Kiara completed the look with a sleek middle-parted updo, minimal make-up, an emerald choker, and a pair of studs. We don’t know about you, but this look on her has got us dreaming about all the velvet outfits we’ll be wearing at weddings this winter! If you too, would like to start stocking up on velvet outfits for the winter already, we have put together for you our picks for the most stunning velvet saris to get, that will go perfectly with the cold season.

Most Beautiful Velvet Saris

Shorshe

One thing we absolutely love when it comes to velvet, is its fusion with jewel tones—deep ruby red, amethyst purple, emerald green, topaz blue, bright citrine yellow! The deep, saturated hues of gemstones, amalgamated with heavy velvet, looks rich, bold, and very striking. Exhibit A: this beautiful saree from Shorshe that brings together not one, but two jewel colours, and also two rich fabrics: velvet and tissue.

Torani

We’re absolutely loving this stunning deep red sari from Torani. It has tulle fabric for the pleats, and velvet for the pallu. The pallu of the sari also comes with intricately-done embroidery and a scallop border. Love!

However, if you’re looking for a slightly more comfy, laid-back version of a sari, like a pre-draped sari or a concept sari, we’ve got you covered too. Our pick is this sharara sari from Sureena Chowdhri. We love the multi-panel sharara, and the colour combination of blue and plum.
