As the wedding season takes over, Tennis icon Venus Williams has also marked her attendance in the brides’ club as she tied the knot with her partner, actor Andrea Preti. The wedding celebration spanned across five days in Florida; however, the couple had initially gotten married secretly in Ischia, Italy on September 18.

The couple hosted their second wedding over the weekend in Palm Beach, at their luxe $10 million home in Jupiter, Florida, with a full week of events in the presence of their family and friends. Venus had later opened up about her lavish September 18 wedding with Vogue, sharing, “We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy, but we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So, we decided to have a second wedding."

The couple’s second wedding at the Palm Beach began mid-December on Monday as the couple went on a yacht day gifted by Venus’ sister Serena Williams, along with about 12 close friends and family members. Venus had then spoken about her Florida celebrations with Vogue, “They always say weddings go so fast, and they do. We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends who were in town on the boat, and we were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other.” Serena had also organised the cuisine for the event. This was followed by daily pool parties, where the couple hosted 25 of Andrea’s relatives and companions from Italy.

Tuesday witnessed Venus’ boudoir-themed bridal shower that was organised on the pair’s patio, wearing one of her 12 stylish ensembles, including a dress by Kim Kassas. The function featured Asian-fusion dinner and the guests vibed to Beyoncé and took part in a lip-sync battle. What followed was a week of Italian dinners at Sopra Members’ Club in Miami, organised by Andrea, a sports-filled day that included tennis, volleyball, dodgeball and pickleball.

The couple's formal nuptials were rather private, as they took place in an intimate courthouse ceremony on December 19, where Venus wore a custom Morilee New York ensemble. She had also prepared a second outfit for the ceremony, "A classic short skirt and top, and I had the perfect headpiece for it. Then we had breakfast afterwards, and our day got started," she told Vogue. Andrea had called their courthouse nuptials “unique, emotional, and deep," as he told Vogue, "It was the second-best day of my life," after their Italian wedding.

Nonetheless, this was not it, their main celebration was hosted on Sunday where Andrea had walked down the aisle with his mother as “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5 played in the background while Venus arrived looking dazzling in a Georges Hobeika gown that was discovered during Paris Fashion Week as  “Ovunque Sarai” by Irama played in the background to honour Andrea’s late grandmother. Venus had shared with Vogue, "I wanted to wear a dress that I thought Andrea would love and that was magical and perfect for a Florida wedding."

The couple had exchanged their personal vows in both English and Italian, which was then followed by their first dance to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and a classic tune by The Flamingos. Their celebrations, as Venus revealed to Vogue, had extended late into the night with an after-party bus as well.

Venus and Andrea first met in 2024 during Milan Fashion Week at a Gucci show and later reconnected in London. Venus had later revealed that she had known since then that she would marry him. The couple later confirmed news of their engagement in July 2025.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
