Ahana Raheja and Yash Patel’s wedding in Gujarat unfolded as a four-day celebration that felt immersive, atmospheric and meticulously authored, bringing together nearly 300 guests in a setting where music, couture and ritual moved in deliberate harmony rather than existing as standalone spectacles. The couple remained closely involved in shaping the experience, from curating performance line-ups to structuring the cadence of ceremonies, ensuring that each event felt like a chapter in a larger, cohesive narrative rather than a series of isolated functions.

The festivities opened with a haldi that replaced restraint with radiance, where marigolds met water guns and ritual met revelry, setting a tone that was celebratory yet intimate. Raheja, who works alongside her mother at Beena Raheja Fine Jewellery, chose to reinterpret tradition in a blush pink tissue lehenga by Riddhi Mehra, its soft sheen elevated by a specially crafted beaded and draped blouse that caught the light with every movement, while Patel mirrored the refinement in the same label, establishing a visual continuity that felt considered without being overt.

As evening descended, the sangeet transformed into a luminous garden imagined at twilight, where orchids and roses were threaded with fibre-optic strands so they glowed from within, and oversized translucent poppies rose sculpturally across the venue. Inspired by The Starry Night, suspended beneath cloud installations that softened the ceiling and deepened the dreamlike quality of the space. Raheja’s sculptural ensemble by Gaurav Gupta echoed the drama of the setting, while Patel’s look by Falguni Shane Peacock complemented the grandeur with sharp tailoring and embellishment.

The mehendi offered a contrasting mood, unfolding poolside beneath striped umbrellas and surrounded by lounge seating and floating iridescent spheres that shimmered in daylight, creating an atmosphere that felt youthful yet curated. Interactive stations for bespoke lip gloss blending, fragrance creation and charm-making invited guests into tactile experiences. She wore Anamika Khanna’s AKOK line, pairing a silver chain top with an embellished blouse and vivid blue trousers that felt directional yet celebratory, while Patel alternated between Manish Malhotra and Abhinav Mishra across events, aligning his wardrobe with each setting’s tone. For a sundowner, Raheja chose a multi-coloured lehenga by Sonaakshi Raaj, its butterfly blouse carrying spiritual resonance while maintaining a lightness appropriate for the hour.

The ceremony itself was steeped in saturated reds, burnt oranges and marigold golds, framed by an intricately embroidered toran and a mandap set against swirling Sanskrit script that created both visual texture and devotional depth. Guests were offered engraved glass bells and embroidered parasols, subtle details that elevated the sensory experience of participation. Raheja’s bridal ensemble by Manish Malhotra featured a bejewelled blouse and a lehenga composed of slender tonal red panels that created movement and dimension, finished with a crystal drape in place of a second dupatta. Her double veil carried devotional text, Lord Ganesh motifs and butterflies, while also incorporating the couple’s names and wedding date, merging spirituality with couture craftsmanship. Patel wore Manish Malhotra for the ceremony as well, reinforcing the visual symmetry of the moment.

The rituals braided Gujarati pheras with Punjabi and Sindhi traditions, incorporating Pokhwanu, Milni and the chooda ceremony alongside invocations of Jhulelal’s blessings, before culminating in a Maha Aarti inside the temple, positioning faith not as ornamentation but as the spiritual anchor of the celebration. Beauty direction, led by Shradha Luthra with GlammSquad supporting select functions, elevated each look through considered detailing, from floral accents woven into haldi hair to intensified kohl and Swarovski crystal embellishments that caught light during the mehendi. Jewellery throughout was designed through Beena Raheja Fine Jewellery, lending the bridal narrative an added layer of intimacy, while her kaliras by Mrinalini Chandra carried personalised motifs that functioned as heirlooms in the making.
