A love story set in motion by a cupid and a grand celebration in Udaivilas made Dhruv and Diya’s special day even more special.

Every love story has an unforgettable beginning, and for Dhruv Marwadi and Diya Sheth, their love story was set in motion by a cupid. Diya Sheth shared that it was her sister who set the two up for a date. She recalled how their first meeting was far from an ideal date. “Funny enough, we actually didn’t get along the very first time we met. But slowly, we became friends, and somewhere along the way that friendship turned into love...most unexpectedly and beautifully.”
It wasn’t love at first sight or an instant connection between the couple, but the little things that the two did for each other that brought them closer. Besides the grand gestures, their moments are made of love. At their cocktail night, Dhruv surprised Diya with a heartfelt song, performing in front of their families and friends. “Beyond the big gestures, though, it’s the small everyday things we do for each other that make it truly romantic,” Diya shared.

What is a wedding without a unique and memorable proposal, and Dhruv knew exactly where he had to pop the question. Diya shared that he planned his proposal at Soho House Mumbai very place where the couple had met for the first time. “It felt like life had come full circle, and that made the moment even more meaningful.”
What made their relationship even more special was that their families had known each other for over two or three decades and already shared a connection. “They were very much a part of the journey,” Diya recalled as she highlighted that it was interesting that even so, the duo had never crossed paths, making their journey even more special.
Talking about their wedding and the rituals and customs that they followed or were the most excited about, the couple did not single out a particular ritual. Instead, they focused on blending traditions to create celebrations that felt authentic to them. “It was more about blending traditions seamlessly and celebrating in a way that felt authentic to us.” Their wedding was smooth, and everything had come together very beautifully to make their big day even more memorable.

From the beginning, the couple had envisioned a wholesome wedding that reflected who they were and the kind of bond and relationship they shared. “All we wanted was something heartfelt, personal, and filled with love.” Diya had always planned to get married at Udaivilas, and the couple knew from the beginning of the wedding preparations that it was the perfect venue for their big day. “Everything was designed very intentionally, but the standout for us was how every detail came together to create an atmosphere that felt magical and very ‘us,’” the couple reflected on how Enjay Events orchestrated every detail for their special day, bringing the couple’s vision to life in a way that it felt deeply personal.
For their wedding looks, Diya recalled drawing inspiration from designers whom she had long admired. Her bridal ensemble leaned into a timeless aesthetic as each look reflected her personality. While she loved all of her looks, one stood out above the rest. “If I had to pick one, my after-party saree was my absolute favourite,” she said.

A wedding, in itself, is one of the most emotional and unforgettable memories for a couple, but if they had to pick one, Diya and Dhruv collectively agreed, it was their Varmala ceremony. “It was filled with so much emotion, joy, and love; it will always be a memory we cherish deeply,” they said.
But while the big moments owned their day, it was the private ones that took up the most space in their heart-quiet glances, shared laughter and behind-the-scenes candid memories- that the couple believed would live like fresh memories in their mind.
When asked if there was anything that the couple would have done differently, the answer was an instant “nothing at all.” “Everything came together perfectly and felt just right,” the couple agreed.
Diya, sharing her words of wisdom for couples planning their big day, shared, “Happy brides are always the prettiest.” She advised the brides-to-be to not sweat over small things. “Soak in the joy and focus on what really matters.”
Looking back, Dhruv and Diya reiterated that love is not just in the grand gestures. “It is in finding it every single day in the simplest of things we do for each other,” they said as they shared that the wedding only deepened what they already knew about each other.
