While Cloud Dancer might be the Pantone Colour Of The Year, if the recent pop culture moments are anything to go by, the fashion world has collectively decided to have fun with colour this season. From the reign of the sorbet colour palette at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, to blue eyeshadow being the biggest beauty trend of the year, fashion this year is anything but white or beige.

This shift can also be attributed to the apparent death of quiet luxury and the return of maximalism. While quiet luxury in the context of Indian ceremonial wear was more about craftsmanship than colour, we did see colours like ivory and cream have their moment when quiet luxury was at its peak. The shift towards maximalism brings with it a proclivity for more fun colour palettes, like bubblegum colours and electric colours.

Another such colour palette that you might want to embrace this season is jewel tones. Borrowing the deep red hues of rubies with a bold, monotone crimson outfit will inevitably give off main character energy. Dress like the sartorial equivalent of sunshine by borrowing the bright yellow of Citrines and Yellow Sapphires. Or you can wear the colour that has well established its reign this year, by borrowing the deep blue of Tanzanites and Blue Sapphires. Or, wear the colour of mystic and royalty with a deep purple outfit that carries Amethyst energy. You can even opt for a bold viva magenta outfit, taking inspiration from a gemstone like Rubellite Tourmaline.

Not to forget, wearing a monotone outfit in a bold colour is a cheat code for looking unforgettable without trying too hard. Case in point: Madhuri Dixit’s deep purple outfit in Didi Tera Dewar Deewana, from the movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun or Poo’s red outfit in the song You Are My Soniya from the movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. They knew the trick in the late 90s and early 2000s!

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
