With the sudden death of quiet luxury that we are going through right now, comes a sharp turn from all things understated. From fabrics and embroideries to silhouettes and colours, fashion is swerving towards vibrance and extravagance. Colour trends in particular, are moving towards a more vibrant territory. Bright, striking colours are having a moment, with sage green being the only pastel colour that is super on trend right now. Given that Indian weddings were traditionally never about pale, pastel colours, this return to striking colors is rather fitting. While the Pantone colour of the year 2026 is "Cloud Dancer", a shade of ivory, our hunch is that Indian brides will be moving towards bolder, brighter colours this season.

And when we say bold, we mean bold. Think of all the colours that would make for the most striking outfit even if it’s with a simple cotton kurta. Swap your blush pink with Rani pink, ice blue with midnight blue, mint green with bottle green, lilac with amethyst purple, coral with a deep scarlet, and ivory with, well, let’s just say you can skip that altogether as a bride this season! From the pastel color palette, we might see some blush pink, and lots of sage green!

    Deep red

We're all for pastels and muted tones, but the evergreen charm of red is undeniable. Red, the colour of the quintessential Indian bride is back in all its glory—not that it ever left! Deepest shades of red have made appearances on a plethora of runways recently, and we are here for it! This wedding season, you might you might want to embrace deep vermillions and crimsons and scarlets, to elevate the simplest of looks.

    Sage green

The only muted shade on the list, sage green has had a couple of big moments of late. From Alia Bhatt wearing a beautiful sage saree, to Rashmika Mandanna wearing sage green for her haldi recently, the color is going to be all the rage in 2026.

    Purple

Purple has been in trend for a while now. And, by the looks of it, it's not going to die down any time soon. And not just any purple, but the brightest shade of aubergine purple! The one that Madhuri Dixit wore in the song "Didi Tera Devar Deewana" from "Hum Aapke Hain Koun"!

    Rani pink

Another beautiful shade that has seen quite an evolution is Rani pink! You can't enter a room wearing rani pink, and not have everyone in the room take notice. Take this as your sign to embrace the colour of royalty this season. Unless you can't handle attention—in which case, you can skip it!

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
