Pinterest has been the go-to platform for anyone looking for inspiration for anything, ranging from statement wall paint colours to date night dressing. It’s not surprising that it’s the first port of call for anyone planning a wedding. This is why the platform’s Annual Pinterest Wedding Trends Report for 2025 deserves your attention.

In the report, Pinterest shared insights into what brides and grooms are searching for on the platform, unveiling the new trends we’ll be spotting everywhere this wedding season. According to the report, 3.8 billion wedding-related searches were conducted on the platform, with more than 13.4 billion wedding ideas saved globally in one year.

Wedding Trends For 2025, According To Pinterest

    Mocha Mousse Reigns Supreme

The report claims that brown is going to be the ‘It’ colour of the wedding season this year. Mocha Mousse was named the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2025, so it’s not surprising to see that brides, grooms, and style-conscious wedding guests will be veering towards the shade when it comes to the wedding colour palette. According to the report, the search term ‘chocolate brown wedding’ saw an increase by 451% and ‘brown wedding decor’ saw an increase by +41%.

    Walk Down Memory Lane

We’ve seen a revival of vintage photography styles and equipment in the wedding space, with the ‘Youngtro’ trend and the resurgence of fashion like the farshi shalwar. The report claims that Gen-Z is going to be looking towards the past for inspiration for the wedding season. Upcycling heirloom pieces in clothes and jewellery is also gaining prominence in the space. There has been a marked rise in people searching for ‘90s wedding dress vintage’ and ‘90s bride Indian’ on the platform. Most notably, Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane repurposed her mother-in-law's wedding outfit for her wedding recently.

    Ring Shake-up

According to Pinterest, soon-to-be-brides and grooms are veering away from traditional engagement ring styles and opting for more unique and personalised ones. We’ve seen this with celebrities like Zendaya, with her east-west engagement ring, and Selena Gomez, with her marquise diamond engagement ring. Searches for ‘east west engagement ring’ went up 48% and ‘marquise engagement ring stack’ saw a rise of 1110%. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s decision to go with a pink diamond engagement ring is also on trend, as per the report. Fancy coloured diamond engagement rings also saw major traction on the platform, with ‘pink diamond wedding rings’ seeing a rise in searches by 349%.

    Candids All The Way

Cinematic and editorial photography has taken over the wedding photography space in the past few years. It seems like the trend is here to stay as Gen-Z is veering away from stiff traditional portraits towards more relaxed and aesthetically pleasing mood boards for their wedding albums. Moreover, brides and grooms are preferring to have wedding content creators on board to curate a picture-perfect social media feed during their nuptials.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
