Digital content creator and singer Sejal Kumar tied the knot with her longtime friend and partner, Bharat Subramaniam, in a wedding that beautifully reflected their journey of love across continents. Hosted at JW Marriott Walnut Grove, Mussoorie, the celebration embraced intimacy, authenticity, and thoughtful design over grandeur.

The serene mountains offered a poetic backdrop, echoing the couple’s shared love for calm, natural beauty. Their mandap, inspired by patios and pergolas, became the emotional centre of the ceremony. Designed simply and elegantly by the DB Spaces, the photographer Manvi Gandotra, founder of 1Plus1 Studio, shares, “What stood out to us was how effortless their connection felt. The celebration moved at its own pace, and we followed that rhythm."

Sejal’s bridal ensembles, styled by Sheefa Gilani, were a vibrant showcase of contemporary Indian couture. She chose a Sabyasachi lehenga featuring a chand blouse and two fuchsia dupattas for the Pheras, radiating a serene glow enhanced by makeup artist Kuhu Gupta. From a custom-made, playful Papa Don’t Preach ensemble for the Mehendi to Seema Gujral’s refined creations for Haldi and Sangeet, and finally, a chic Gauri & Nainika gown for the Mussoorie reception, her looks reflected joy, elegance, and modernity.

Bharat’s wardrobe was equally expressive, and he looked dapper in all ensembles. He wore a white-and-pink embroidered Rahul Mishra Nehru jacket for the mehendi, a black, glam Indo-Western outfit for the sangeet, and a yellow, open jacket for the Haldi. His off-white Sabyasachi sherwani with a floral stole for the Pheras perfectly complemented Sejal’s lehenga, followed by a black tuxedo for the Mussoorie reception and a navy achkan for the celebration in the capital.

Every detail of the wedding spoke to the couple’s quiet, intuitive bond, shaped by years of long-distance love. With the mountains as witnesses and their story woven into every frame, Sejal and Bharat’s wedding was an intimate, heartfelt celebration of love and continuity—captured forever in visuals that feel as timeless as their journey together.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

The fact that it comes with band, baaja and baraat — what's not to love? And that is the reason our first issue celebrates:
